Agility 2G IP Capture

Overview

Agility 2G IP Video ingests video transport streams over Ethernet for conversion to live streaming media or for transcoding to other formats. IP Video is ideal for service providers and media who are searching for an inexpensive delivery channel or broadband and mobile video. Unlike traditional video ingest solutions that require conversion to baseband video and point to point connections on expensive video networks and video capture cards, IP Video capture requires only an Ethernet port to access the native transport stream.

Agility 2G Workflow

Reliable IP Ingest Solutions

Agility 2G IP Video tune to PIDs and decodes the audio and video within single program or multi-program MPEG2 transport streams to repurpose it for playback on cable TV, broadband or mobile networks. Robust Agility 2G IP Video uniquely overcomes the inherent unreliability of IP network and survives the loss of up to one full second video from lost or dropped IP packets. Agility 2G also offers automated stream reconnection and restart for recovery of more severe errors. N+1 hardware redundancy with automated failover protects systems from hardware failures and outages.
Because capture only requires access to the IP network and no additional video capture hardware, Agility IP Video is compatible with energy efficient blade servers and low cost virtual server technologies. Companies with green initiatives benefit immediately from reduced power, cooling and space requirements of base band video alternatives.

Live Web and Mobile Output

Agility 2G is ideal for adapting live content received in transport streams into live streaming output for broadband web and mobile consumption. Live output formats are compliant with Flash, Windows Media VC1 and 3GPP distribution servers and networks.

Transcoding

Transport stream input can be converted to any of the hundreds of media file formats produced by Agility 2G for recording and archiving of the transport stream video.

Video Service Provider 3-Screen Support

Service providers can directly convert the transport stream received over satellite into formats that facilitate 3-screen distribution. Subscribers can watch your content whether at home or on the go.

Features and Benefits

  • Convert satellite feeds directly to VOD, web and mobile formats for new product offerings.
  • Ethernet interface eliminates the need for video capture hardware.
  • Use inexpensive and existing IP networks for routing broadcast quality video throughout facilities or campuses.
  • Direct ingest of satellite feeds with no baseband conversion and resultant image generational degradation.
  • Use blade servers and virtual servers for more compact, smaller footprint with reduced power and cooling requirements.
  • Agility 2G error recovery, restart and failover supports unattended operation for enhanced user experience with lower operational costs.
