Agility Watermarking
Digital distribution and desktop transcoding content owners have become increasingly susceptible to having their assets compromised by unscrupulous pirating. Illegal activities degrade content and open owners up to further vulnerability, and potential profit loss.
Anystream addresses content owners’ needs with the Agility Forensic Watermarking module, which applies imperceptible forensic watermarks directly into the Agility output video streams at the time of transcoding. By embedding watermarks and associating them with descriptive metadata into any media format produced by Agility, content owners can protect and track the illegal use of media through production and approval processes.
Based on Philips CompoTrack™ and Thomson Content Security™ technology, watermark strength can be assigned so that they are recoverable after multiple generations of transcoding, frame rate reduction and resizing. Whether transcoded for distribution on the internet, cell phone or on a DVD, pirated content can be traced back to the original source.
Watermarks propagate to video that is derived from marked content. Successive generations carry the watermarks that can be extracted from the media. Anystream provides services to integrate the detection technology with your specific workflows and databases.
Metadata Driven Automation
Using descriptive metadata supplied manually or from automation systems during job submission, Agility hashes the metadata and automatically generates watermark payloads, then processes the watermarked media.
Agility output includes the watermarked content and a report detailing the payload and metadata values for logging to a database for tracking. Metadata and payloads are directly associated for future reference.
Detection
Detection is rarely done on the original watermarked content. Pirated content
has typically been transcoded to different formats for distribution. The Philips
payload can be detected within the following formats:
• MPEG I stream
• MPEG I VCD
• MPEG II
• Windows Media
• DivX
• Real Media
• QuickTime
Other formats can be transcoded in Agility into one of the supported formats.
